For those who do not study any manga or acknowledge anything about it, Bakuman establishes us a glance at the effort put into making one, and the stress and uncertainty a mangaka goes through. I feel Bakuman establishes a practical view of what goes on behind the scenes to prepare a manga, well as real as it can be given it is Shoujo and they need to move the narration to keep it entertaining.
